Thanks for the departing President

After the entire former organising committee team completely resigned in 2006, Guido Caccivio and a few curling enthusiasts took the initiative to save the tournament. The team took on the tasks with a great deal of commitment and enthusiasm, formed a new organising committee, making a significant contribution to turning the continuously growing Swiss Cup Basel into the internationally renowned and popular event as it stands today. |
Over the past 11 years Guido Caccivio chaired the OC skilfully and has invested a lot of time and passion in various tasks. He is now stepping down and handing over his responsibility to new hands with a good conscience. We cannot thank Guido Caccivio enough for his many years of hard and dedicated work. At the last General Assembly, at the request of the OC and recognition of his untiring commitment, Guido was elected as an honorary member.

It was mere luck to find a new president within the own ranks. Rolf Jermann is already involved since 7 years in the organising committee of the Swiss Cup Basel, has a good knowledge of the tasks and is also well known among the players. He has agreed to take on this responsibility and was elected with thanks and acclamation. We wish Rolf Jermann all the best in his new role. |

The OC has determined the date for the Swiss Cup Basel 2024:
The 21st tournament will take place from 1 to 3 November 2024. The tournament will be held with 24 teams in a triple knock-out system. However, we reserve the right to change the game system to group and playoff games if only 20 teams register.
Grand Prix Bern Inter and Swiss Cup Basel have aligned their dates to allow teams to play two great tournaments in Switzerland within 10 days:
Impressions of the Swiss Cup Basel 2023
After the group matches and quarterfinals, two Swiss teams (Stocker and Brunner) qualified for the semi-finals alongside a Scottish and a Norwegian team. In the semi-finals, the Norwegians (Magnus Ramsfjell) were defeated by the Swiss (Yves Stocker) and the Scots (Cameron Bryce) triumphed over the Swiss (Michael Brunner).
In the final, the Swiss team Stocker was unable to maintain the good performances of the previous games and was clearly defeated 9:3.

Honour for David ŠikThis year we would like to thank a particularly loyal curler for his participation in our anniversary tournament. David Šik from the Czech Republic has taken part in all but the first three Swiss Cup Basel tournaments. Since 2006, David and his team have made the remarkable journey to Arlesheim seventeen times and have always behaved as a very friendly and absolutely fair curler.Dear David, we wish you and your team every success and look forward to welcoming you again next year.
